Stephanie Rose Long
Stephanie Rose Long was raised in Florida and spent many summers in Vermont. Riding horses and drawing them were her favorite activities as far back as she can remember. In high school two art classes a day led to numerous awards and a scholarship to the local Junior College.
In 1982 Stephanie received a Bachelor of Fine Art from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in design and photography. After college she spent almost 10 years living in San Francisco, working odd jobs and doing photography and graphic design in the city’s music community.
In 1996 Stephanie married cutting horse trainer Gary Long and returned to her love of horses. Since that time she has lived in Fallon Nevada with Gary and her two sons Ronnie and Cody. Working as a full-time mom, caring for, riding and showing cutting horses, while pursuing a career in art, has kept her very busy.
Although competent in several mediums, Stephanie’s favorites are pastels and ceramics. She has had several limited-edition giclee prints made from her original pastel paintings, and is represented by Wildflower Village and Alexandratos Gallery in Reno. Currently she is working on a children’s story book, which is near completion and seeking publishing opportunities.
Stephanie has been in our Welcome the West I and II shows.
Her work can be purchased online from Alexandratos Gallery at www.art-nv.com. or call Stephanie Tsanas at 775-762-4811.
