Dianne AguirreLooking for larger canvases to paint on led Dianne L. Aguirre to discover the beauty of murals. Dianne an artist in Reno, Nevada has been painting murals since 1984. Dianne's interior murals can be seen in homes, churches, schools, and business in ArrowCreek, Caughlin Ranch, Double Diamond, Galena, Montreaux, and throughout Sparks and Reno. Available for public view are two exterior murals (Silverlake Park in Stead and Tengo Un Sueno "I Have A Dream" Preschool on Warren in Reno). Furthermore, Dianne has painted murals for the Monte Vigna Ristorante of the Atlantis Hotel and Casino and for the Romanza Ristorante of the Peppermill Hotel Casino.
Dianne does not limit herself to murals. Her interests and skill has her creating beautiful work in various media: acrylic, color pencil, mixed media, oil, pen & ink, pencil, and watercolor. The scenes that Dianne mostly creates are angelic visitations, garden scenes, natural and urban landscapes, seascapes and wildlife. In 2000 and 2001 Dianne submitted artwork in the Nevada State Fair. Dianne received the following ribbons: two 2nd, one 3rd and an Honorable Mention. The last time Dianne had submitted artwork for the Nevada State Fair was in 1987 where she received ribbons in 1st, 2nd and Honorable Mention. Dianne annually participates in Artown, Starving Artist Sale and other community art projects in the Truckee Meadows. Dianne lived in Portland, Oregon between 1987 - 1997, before returning to Reno, Nevada. Her canvas paintings and murals grace many homes and businesses in the Portland metropolitan area, as well as in Alaska, California, Nevada and Washington. While in Portland, she worked closely with interior designers developing murals and canvas paintings. These works may be seen in restaurants, premier hotels, malls, churches and homes.
It is fascinating to find out how early Dianne manifested her God given talent, which she has spent her life developing. Dianne began expressing herself visually at two years old with coloring books and crayons. By six years old she was painting. At eleven she began winning ribbons in the Churchill County fair in the adult categories. When she turned thirteen she discovered oil paints, received ribbons in the adult categories in the Nevada State Fair and began selling her work. During her adolescence Dianne sold many paintings and did the first set of murals in McQueen High School. Dianne's awards range from local, state and national competitions. Her "Albino Blues" after winning the Congressional Art Competition hung in the Capitol Building in Washington, DC for a year. Dianne's greatest joy since childhood has been to serve others by using her gift to delight others. You can see more of her work at www.aguirreart.com .
