Jim
Lindem
The natural beauty of Nevada and California is captured in “Lindem Landscapes” the new show at Alexandratos Gallery Annex. “Hope Valley Splendor” an oil painting of California Aspens and Pines explodes with the vibrant yellows of fall. “October Aspens” gives one a feeling that you are in the midst of the trees and can notice their lacy canopy and white bark sentinels. In “Monterey Surf” you can smell the ocean salt water and feel the crashing of the surf. “Washoe Valley Ranch” with its dramatic mountains and colorful fall trees reminds us of the beauty of Washoe Valley which unfortunately is being rapidly developed. The barn scene in “Verdi Ranch” brings back the nostalgic feel of the old west. All of Jim’s work is in Oil with very detailed, representational painting. Join us for the Artist’s Reception on Thursday, October 2, 2008 from 4-7 pm.
Jim received his B.A. degree in Commercial Art and Advertising from the University of Minnesota. He earned local and state awards in Minnesota and Iowa while completing his education, and later as a display advertising artist. He continued his love of painting while raising a family and working in sales and marketing, but accepted commissioned paintings as time permitted. Jim has been a full time artist for several years and regularly exhibits his work in various venues. Jim has lived in the Reno/Sparks area for 16 years, and prior to that, 10 years in the Monterey Bay area of California. The influence can be seen in his landscapes and seascapes
